TUBA, Benguet has been known for its rich gold content in the 1930s, which led to its flourishing mining industry. As a result of large-scale and toxic conditions from mining, the municipality has faced environmental consequences. Over the years, it has been forward-looking to its environmental impact. This has been specifically seen from Tuba’s Camp 1 and Camp 3 which are reforming towards agriculture as part of its economy, among which is coffee cultivation.

As you drink a cup of TUBA Single Origin coffee, you’ll experience a palatable balance of acidity and sugary sweetness! With every sip, you taste brown sugar and caramel with the juicy attribute of berries!

About MOFSAI, Mankayan, Kapi Tako, and Cordillera Green Network (CGN)
The Cordillera Green Network (GCN) is a non-profit organization promoting environmental protection and empowerment of indigenous communities, helping communities like MOFSAI from Tuba. They achieve this mainly by their agroforestry program in support of sustainable coffee production and reforestation. Initiatives include Arabica seedling distribution, skills training, and capacity development.

To sustain this cause, they have established Kapi-Tako, a social enterprise that leads marketing and for-profit activities that boost Fair Trade practices that ensure their partner community is fairly compensated for their work.

Social Initiative

Our mission in Yama is to go against unethical practices that have been long rampant in the coffee industry. We’re here to empower farmers, provide them with opportunities to sustain their livelihood, and in turn give you traceable, delicious coffee.

With our aligned goals, we’ve partnered with Cordillera Green Network (CGN) and Kapi Tako to support their advocacy and uplift their project communities to pursue sustainable coffee production, forest restoration, and fair trade.

So, for every purchase of TUBA, 40% of the proceeds go to:

  • The sustenance of farmer’s livelihood
  • CGN and Kapi Tako’s continuous efforts to aid in the improvement of their beneficiary’s crops through: agroforestry projects, training/workshops, and other projects.
